About the Musicians
Lola Miller is a vocalist-composer whose music is built on collaboration and expression of the human experience. She reflects the present moment while reimagining old perspectives, both lyrically and musically. Her compositions and arrangements have been performed in venues ranging from the SFJAZZ Miner Auditorium to the Holywell Music room at Oxford. She is just as graceful writing for a jazz quintet as she is writing for a chamber orchestra. As a vocalist, her dynamic presence and intimately expressive voice thrives painting a story through an American songbook tune just as much as it does gliding above a band on a modern wordless melody. She has shared the stage with countless luminaries such as Warren Wolf, Matt Wilson, Edward Simon, and David Sanchez.

Whether reinterpreting classic jazz repertoire or debuting modern compositions, saxophonist Aidan Siemann adds passion to every note he plays. A powerful and positive presence on the bandstand, Aidan has performed internationally and has won awards in jazz festivals and competitions across the country, including the YoungArts Competition.
He has shared the stage with modern jazz legends such as Terri Lynne Carrington, Orrin Evans, Warren Wolf, and Helen Sung, performing at venues like SFJazz and Jazz at Lincoln Center. www.aidansiemannmusic.weebly.com |
Imaginative, empathetic, and poised, Josh Setala is the musician’s drummer and the drummer’s musician. Josh brings a bubbly, zealous swing to the band, no matter what music he’s playing. He can often be found in a big band or in a small room playing duo with a friend. He currently lives and teaches in San Francisco, though he left his heart in Seattle. His favorite instrument (after his own) is the bass.
